Friends ForNever Kindle Edition
"Packed with love, laughter, and deliciously devious frenemies, Friends ForNever is an entertaining romantic comedy for the keeper shelf!" ~ Gemma Halliday, New York Times & USA Today bestselling author
*The main character, Erin, having a phone conversation with her best friend about her mom butting into her life: "I haven't told her about Aiden yet either, so that should help. I know she just thinks I'm hopeless when it comes to relationships and that I sit home on Saturday nights eating ice cream and watching TV."
I glance down at my half-eating pint of Cherry Garcia. Well, crap.
*I'm still trying to recover from my mother's bachelorette party, which was last weekend. I knew I would regret going, and I do. It was like going clubbing with the Golden Girls.
This book was fairly well-edited and the story flowed naturally throughout. The characters were developed, without the author explaining every piece of clothing they were wearing in every scene, which I appreciated.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read. I would definitely read more by this author; I enjoy her writing style.
Before I reveal why I gave this little charmer a Gold Bookworm, let me tell you how thrilled I was to read about the French Laundry, the Yountville, California restaurant that has been on my bucket list for years! Why has it been on my bucket list? Because it’s a foodie’s dream. It’s also extremely hard to get a reservation, but a bucket list is worth a challenge, right? Here is a link that explains the reservation ordeal, I mean “process.” https://www.wikihow.com/Get-French-Laundry-Reservations
Someday I will get there! (I did try for hours to get a reservation.) In the meantime, it was a delight to read about our heroine’s family dinner at my dream restaurant. There were many other enjoyable moments in this book, too.
If you want to read something interesting, romantic and funny, then choose any book by Author Melissa Baldwin's Friend’s ForNever ticks all the boxes: pretty, successful, nice heroine; interesting work environment; dream-come-true boyfriend; quirky family; romance and friendship problems. Erin Taylor lives in San Francisco and writes for a snazzy magazine. She has friends at work…or does she? She also has a love interest in the office…or does she? Her parents are divorced…or are they? She may get a plum assignment in Paris…or not?
You will have a wonderful time with this book. And if you can’t get a reservation to the French Laundry, at least you can read about it!
“I have learned that there will be times when friends will hurt and disappoint you. But there will be more times when friends will also uplift and support you…”
